"See No Evil, Feel No Evil"
is a series of miniature handmade sculptures of women with their hair in buns in contorted, balled-up positions with their eyes covered. A play on the Three Wise Monkeys (as interpreted by Western culture), the sculptures address the physical and emotional discomforts of having a female body in today's society and the desire to simply pull back your hair, curl up in fetal position and pretend none of it is happening or has happened.
Being small, the sculptures automatically create a safe, private exchange between woman and sculpture and are meant almost as dreamcatchers: tokens to help you acknowledge and transfer some of the weight of your discomforts, self-judgement or trauma so you can continue being strong in your daily life.
Each lady is about one square inch in size. Original series of 56 created in 2018 and shown at Pulse Contemporary Art Fair during Art Basel Miami Beach.
A few ladies remain available for adoption in the Shop.
